Yes, hail. As the storm that caused
the massive tornadoes in Oklahoma made it's way to the northeast, we experienced two nights of brief hailstorms. Fortunately, our hailstones were quite small and not as bad as the ones seen in other counties.
As we opened the camp early this year, the lake was still pretty quiet. Most of the ducks have not returned yet though some geese are already here with their growing family. Did they really leave?
As for the hummingbirds, they are already back and entertaining us with their dog fights.
Even with all the activities related to selling our main house in New
York last summer and relocating cross country, we had a great time at
the camp, though one might think otherwise when looking at the number of
entries I had in this blog. Now that we've become snow birds (reverse
snow birds, as they call us in the Silver State), we hope to have more fun as we look forward to spending our first whole summer at Kayuta Lake.
But first, we have to brace ourselves for a cold memorial day weekend.
